What is Reiki?

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on energy healing method that originated in Japan. The word “Reiki” is often translated as “universal life energy”—the subtle energy that flows through all living beings.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner lightly places their hands on or just above the body, allowing this life energy to flow where it is needed most. Many people experience deep relaxation, a sense of inner peace, and relief from stress. Reiki supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

Reiki is:
✨ Non-invasive and gentle – no pressure or manipulation of the body.
✨ Fully clothed – you remain dressed and comfortable at all times.
✨ Complementary – it can be used alongside conventional medical or therapeutic treatments.
✨ Suitable for everyone – adults, children, and the elderly.

While Reiki is not a substitute for medical care, it can be a powerful support in times of stress, transition, or healing, offering a quiet space to reconnect with yourself and your inner resources.

Why learn to be a Reiki practitioner?
Learning Reiki is much more than acquiring a technique; it is a personal journey of growth, awareness, and service.

As a Reiki practitioner, you:
✨ Develop tools for self-care – you can give Reiki to yourself to reduce stress, cultivate inner calm, and support your own healing process.
✨ Support others – family, friends, and clients can benefit from your touch, presence, and the deep relaxation Reiki provides.
✨ Deepen your intuition and sensitivity – regular practice often refines your ability to listen to your body, your emotions, and the subtle needs of others.
✨ Bring more meaning into your life – many practitioners experience Reiki as a path of connection: to themselves, to others, and to something greater than themselves.

Whether you want Reiki for your own well-being, to enrich an existing therapeutic practice, or to work professionally with clients, learning Reiki offers a simple, accessible way to bring more healing, presence, and compassion into everyday life.

About Reiki courses:

The art of Reiki has three stages:

Stage 1, in which we learn first to balance and heal ourselves, cleanse the body, get to know the Reiki energy, and to relax and surrender into it.

Stage 2, in which we learn to know and use the Reiki symbols, send Reiki to far away people and destinations, and have access to stronger energy fields coming through us.

Stage 3, in which we receive the master symbol and can teach others.

A Reiki course for one person takes about 6 hours, in which we will open and activate the energetic body, calm the mind, and relax into the initiation process. Later we will experience an exchange of treatments, share some information and theoretical knowledge, and conclude with a certificate and a booklet with all the necessary information to continue the way.

A Reiki course for two people will take about eight hours—a full day.

For more people, it is better to create a two-day course that can include other activities like singing in the night, healthy vegan cooking, and dancing.

The process after the course:

The Reiki course itself is very short: in just one or two days, you will have a healing tool that you can already apply to yourself and others. However, the real process of growth and healing only starts after the course, and it is in the practitioner's hands—in both senses of the word—to continue the process.

For the first 21 days after the initiation for the first level, the practitioner is required to give themselves a self-treatment every day and maintain a vegan diet, with no alcohol, tobacco, coffee, sugar, or other stimulants.

In this way, the Reiki energy passes through the body, cleansing, balancing, and healing disharmonies.

Something new could happen—a different feeling in the body, or a different way to see the world, relate to others, think, and feel.

So, who is ready for this wonderful adventure?
